One of my young females has a wound just below her neck and between the point of her shoulder and where her chest begins (does this make sense?). It's about the size of a half-dollar, and her feathers were bloodied around the wound. It's not bleeding now, though. I don't know how she got it -- whether some sort of predator got into the barn (unlikely with the LGDs barking their fool heads off, but since the LGDs can't access the poultry area, maybe...) -- or whether she punctured herself on something (also unlikely because there's nothing I can find that would make a wound of that size). I've sprayed iodine on the wound, but could also (or instead) use BlueKote, which I've used with good success in the past when one of my Barred Rocks was apparently attacked and had a wound beneath her wing. The goose seems comfortable now, and is walking about and bathing and eating with everyone else. I'm concerned about infection, though. What's your advice?
