Its been a dreadful winter with bitter cold temps and record snowfalls.
Not to mention endless cloudy, grey days. New photos from today Icon_e_sad
I've kept the birds in when the weather is ugly.
If I let them out on really bad days all they do is hunker down
trying to stay warm. Today they're enjoying a bath,
sunbathing, preening and munching on apples and alfalfa hay.
Its good to see them enjoying themselves.

Ha ha!
Thats our motto... "Always room for one more"
But lately, money's been tight, and we all have to cut back somewhere. No more mouths to feed for now.
I need to take a photo of the little black hen we kept this year. She is so pretty.
That leaves me with three muscovy hens... That's going to be a lot of ducklings! Yikes.

Wish you were in northern Ind.
We could meet in Shipshewana.
I have some extra blue drakes from that fall hatch.
I'd give you one.
My stinkin' feed bill has almost doubled due to the high cost of feed so I know what you are talking about.

Yeah,
But at least birds are cheap to feed.... Try feeding over a dozen horses (and farrier, and wormer, and vet bills ugh!) Beginning to rethink my career choices! Fortunately for us, the birds eat a lot of grain spilled by the horses.

I miss my horses terribley but I know we couldn't afford to have them now.
Hay is $5. - $6. a bale around here.
It use to cost me about $50. a month to feed the horses...now it cost me almost that much just to buy the birds feed every other week. cyclops

I have a friend who is very interested in one of your blue drakes. She just lost her drake to a dog attack and wants to replace him before spring.
She was wondering how much it would cost to ship him.
Let me know if you are interested and I will connect you with her to make arrangements.

Have her check out my sales page for shipping details
and then if shes still interested she can email me.
Might be cheaper for you 2 to split the cost of a day trip up here.
I'm a 2 hour drive north of the Ind/Mich border.
We could meet you in Shipshewana but usually don't go down there until May.

I'll tell her.
They have family in Shipshewana, Maybe they can get with you on their next visit. No room here for another drake :-( Althought they are very tempting!
